Kashmir trip gives you a chance to explore Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, and Sonmarg. You will also sleep in a houseboat on Dal Lake. Every day will bring a new experience, and you will return with memories for a lifetime.
Your tour begins when you land at Srinagar Airport. A driver will pick you up and take you to the houseboat on Dal Lake. Settle in and enjoy the peaceful lake views. In the evening, take a short Shikara ride across the lake. The cool breeze and calm water will refresh you. Enjoy dinner on the houseboat and sleep peacefully.
Start your day with breakfast on the boat. Later, get ready for a city tour of Srinagar. Visit the Mughal Gardens - Shalimar Bagh, Nishat Bagh, and Chashme Shahi. These gardens are full of flowers, fountains, and green lawns. After that, stop by Shankaracharya Temple, which gives a full view of the city from the top. You can also visit the local market and shop for Pashmina shawls and Kashmiri dry fruits. Return to the houseboat by evening and rest.
After breakfast, drive to Gulmarg, around 50 km away. This place is famous for its snow and adventure sports. You can enjoy a Gondola ride (cable car) that goes up to Kongdoori and Apharwat Peak. If the weather is clear, you can even see the Nanga Parbat Mountain. During winter, you can try skiing or snowboarding. Return to Srinagar by evening and stay at a hotel.
Today, drive to Pahalgam, which is 90 km away from Srinagar. The journey will take you through green valleys and small villages. On the way, stop at Awantipura ruins, an old temple site built by King Avantivarman. When you reach Pahalgam, enjoy a walk along the Lidder River or relax in the meadows. You can also hire a pony to visit nearby spots like Aru Valley, Betaab Valley, and Chandanwari. Stay overnight in a hotel in Pahalgam.
Start early and drive towards Sonmarg. It is known as the "Meadow of Gold" and is about 80 km from Srinagar. You will see snowy hills and sparkling streams on the way. In Sonmarg, you can take a pony ride or sled ride to Thajiwas Glacier. Snow stays here for most of the year. Spend a few hours and return to Srinagar by evening. Enjoy your last night in Kashmir with a warm local dinner.
Have your breakfast and pack your bags. The driver will drop you at Srinagar Airport for your return flight. You will carry back beautiful memories, photos, and maybe some Kashmiri gifts for your family and friends.
