Start your journey from Coimbatore in the morning. Our driver picks you up from your location (hotel/railway station/airport). Enjoy a scenic 3.5-hour drive through the Nilgiri Hills. The drive includes winding roads, forest views, and a cool breeze all the way.
On arrival in Ooty, check into your hotel and freshen up. After lunch, start sightseeing with the famous Ooty Lake. You can enjoy boating or take a walk along the lake. Try local snacks like roasted corn and masala tea.
Next, visit the Botanical Gardens, home to many rare plants and flowers. You can walk through the well-kept garden and click photos. Then head to the Rose Garden, which has thousands of colorful roses. Return to the hotel by evening. Spend your free time at the local market. You can shop for homemade chocolates and woollen clothes.
After breakfast, get ready for a full day of exploring. Begin with a visit to the Doddabetta Peak, the highest point in the Nilgiris. You get clear views of the valley and the forests around. It’s a great spot for pictures. Then head to the Tea Factory and Museum. Learn how tea is made, and taste different types of fresh tea. You can also buy some packets to take home.
Now comes a highlight of the trip Ooty Toy Train ride. Drive to Ooty railway station and take a short ride to Coonoor. The ride passes through tunnels, forests, and tea gardens. It is a lovely and peaceful experience.
Once you reach Coonoor, start sightseeing. First, visit Sim’s Park, which has many rare plants and colorful trees. Then go to Lamb’s Rock and Dolphin’s Nose. These viewpoints offer amazing views of the green valleys below.
Have lunch at a local restaurant in Coonoor. Taste South Indian dishes or local mountain food. Later, return to Ooty by car or Toy Train (if available). In the evening, visit Charing Cross for shopping and snacks.
Wake up to a fresh morning. Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel and relax a bit. If you have time before check-out, you can visit the Stone House or the Ooty Tribal Museum. Then, check out of the hotel and begin your return journey to Coimbatore. The drive is again scenic and peaceful.
