Go on a spiritual journey through some of the most significant Buddhist sites in India and Nepal. Begin in Bodhgaya, visiting the revered Maha Bodhi Temple and other local landmarks. Continue exploring Bodhgaya before traveling to Rajgir, Nalanda, and Vaishali, each rich in historical and religious importance. Proceed to Kushinagar, the site of Buddha’s Mahaparinirvana, then on to Lumbini, his birthplace. Discover the sacred sites of Kapilvastu and Sravasti before heading to Varanasi, where you’ll experience the spiritual atmosphere along the ghats of the Ganges River and visit the Buddhist site at Sarnath. Conclude your journey in Varanasi, returning home with profound memories of these holy destinations.
You will arrive at Delhi airport or the railway station. Our tour team will welcome you and take you to the hotel. After check-in, relax for some time. If time allows, visit India Gate or take a short city drive. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner at the hotel.
In the morning, take a train or a flight to Lucknow. After reaching Lucknow, drive towards Sravasti (about 170 km - 4 hours). Sravasti is where Lord Buddha spent 24 rainy seasons and performed miracles. After arrival, check in at the hotel. Visit Jetavana Monastery, Ananda Bodhi Tree, and Sudatta’s house.
After breakfast, drive to Lumbini in Nepal (around 6 hours). Lumbini is the birthplace of Lord Buddha. After reaching, check in at the hotel. Later, visit the Maya Devi Temple, the Ashokan Pillar, and the Sacred Garden. Walk around peaceful monasteries built by many Buddhist countries.
In the morning, drive to Kushinagar (around 4-5 hours). This is the place where Lord Buddha attained Mahaparinirvana. After reaching, check into the hotel. Visit Mahaparinirvana Temple, Ramabhar Stupa (cremation site), and Wat Thai Temple. Take time to sit in silence or meditate.
After breakfast, drive to Patna (about 6-7 hours). On the way, stop at Vaishali, a place of great importance in Buddha's life. Here, Buddha gave his last sermon. Visit Ashokan Pillar, Ananda Stupa, and Vishwa Shanti Stupa. Continue the journey to Patna. Upon arrival, check into the hotel.
After breakfast, drive to Nalanda (around 90 km). Visit the Nalanda University ruins, a great learning center in ancient times. Then, head to Rajgir, a town where Buddha spent many years. Visit Vulture's Peak, Griddhakuta Hill, and Bimbisara’s Jail. After lunch, drive to Bodhgaya (about 70 km). On arrival, check into the hotel.
This day is for exploring the most important Buddhist site - Bodhgaya, where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment. Visit the Mahabodhi Temple, the Bodhi Tree, Animesh Lochan Stupa, and different monasteries around the area. Walk around the holy complex. You can meditate or sit in silence.
After breakfast, drive to Varanasi (about 6 hours). Varanasi is one of the oldest cities in the world. Check in at the hotel after arrival. In the evening, visit the Ganga Ghats and enjoy the Ganga Aarti, a grand prayer ceremony. The view of oil lamps and chants on the riverbank is truly divine.
After breakfast, visit Sarnath, where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon after enlightenment. Explore Dhamek Stupa, Chaukhandi Stupa, Ashokan Pillar, and the Sarnath Museum. Later, return to Varanasi. Board your train or flight to Delhi. Your tour ends here. Take back peaceful memories of walking in the footsteps of Buddha.
