Sammed Shikharji is one of the most important pilgrimage places for Jains. It lies on the highest mountain in Jharkhand, called Parasnath Hill. This holy site is where 20 out of 24 Jain Tirthankaras attained Moksha (liberation). The atmosphere is peaceful, and the journey fills the heart with joy and devotion. This 6-day tour also covers other important Jain sites like Rajgruhi, Kundalpur, and Nalanda. The tour takes you through spiritual paths, ancient temples, and places where saints meditated. If you are looking for a journey that gives peace to your soul, this is the perfect tour for you.
Reach Parasnath by train or car. The nearest railway station is Parasnath Station. From there, drive to Madhuban, a small village at the base of Parasnath Hill. Check into your hotel or Dharamshala. After lunch, visit the nearby Jain temples like Bhomiyaji Temple and the Digambar Jain Mandir. Walk around the village and enjoy the peaceful vibe. Rest well because tomorrow’s climb will be long.
Wake up early, around 3:00 AM. Get ready for the climb to Shikharji. The full Parikrama (circular walk) is about 27-30 km and takes around 10-12 hours. The route goes through dense forest and 31 tonks (temple points), each with deep spiritual meaning. You will visit temples dedicated to 20 Tirthankaras. Chant prayers while walking. Carry light food and water. Many people walk barefoot. After completing the Parikrama, return to Madhuban by evening.
After breakfast, drive from Madhuban to Rujuwalika, a place where Lord Mahavir spent time in meditation. Sit there for a while and feel the calm. After darshan, continue your journey to Rajgruhi (also called Rajgir). Reach Rajgruhi by evening and check into your hotel or Dharamshala. Rest after a long travel day.
Start your day with a visit to the five hills of Rajgruhi. These hills have ancient Jain temples. Visit places like Vipulachal, Ratnagiri, Udaygiri, Vaibhavgiri, and Sonagiri. Each hill has stories linked to Jain saints. You can walk or take a ropeway to some temples. Don’t miss the hot springs (Tapodharma) near Vaibhavgiri. After darshan, return to your hotel. Spend the evening walking in the peaceful town.
After breakfast, take a short trip to Lachhwad, a quiet village linked to Jain history. Visit the ancient Jain temples. After that, head to Guniyaji, another sacred spot. Lord Mahavir once visited this place. Spend some time in prayer. Return to Rajgruhi by evening. Relax and enjoy your last night here.
After breakfast, check out and drive to Kundalpur, the birthplace of Lord Mahavir. Visit the grand temple and the statue of Mahavir. From there, visit Nalanda, a world-famous ancient learning center. Walk through the ruins and imagine the great minds who studied there. Later, head to Rajendra Nagar or Patna to catch your train or flight. Your spiritual journey ends here with blessings and peace.
