Begin your journey from Haridwar early in the morning. Travel by road towards Sonprayag, a scenic drive that will take approximately 8-9 hours. En route, enjoy the views of the holy river Ganga and surrounding hills. On arrival at Sonprayag, check in at your accommodation and rest for the night. Prepare for the next day’s trek.
After an early breakfast, drive to Gaurikund, which is the starting point of the trek to Kedarnath. From Gaurikund, start your 16 km trek to Kedarnath. The path is steep but manageable, passing through lush forests and offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains. On reaching Kedarnath, check in at your accommodation and freshen up. Visit the Kedarnath Temple in the evening for a peaceful darshan. Spend the night in Kedarnath, surrounded by the serenity of the Himalayas.
On day three, after a hearty breakfast, embark on a 3-4 hour trek to Tungnath Temple. This temple is the highest Shiva temple in the world, standing at an altitude of 3,680 meters. The trek is moderately challenging, but the spectacular views of snow-capped peaks make it worthwhile. After visiting the temple, enjoy some time soaking in the peaceful atmosphere and views of the surrounding mountains. Return to Kedarnath in the evening for an overnight stay.
After breakfast in Kedarnath, begin your descent back to Gaurikund. The downhill trek offers beautiful views and a chance to enjoy the surrounding nature. From Gaurikund, drive back to Sonprayag, where you can relax and stay overnight at your accommodation. Enjoy a peaceful night, reflecting on your spiritual journey.
On the final day of your Kedarnath Yatra, travel back from Sonprayag to Haridwar. The road journey takes about 8-9 hours. Enjoy the scenic drive back as you pass through picturesque villages and scenic views. On arrival at Haridwar, your Yatra concludes with blessings from the holy river Ganga. You can choose to explore the famous Har Ki Pauri or relax in the city before departure.
The trek to Kedarnath is moderately difficult, with some steep sections. However, with proper preparation and rest, most people can complete the trek.

Yes, ponies and palkis are available for hire at Gaurikund, but it’s better to trek if you are physically capable, as it offers a more fulfilling experience.
